Overview
GovConCareer (govconcareer.com) is an informational recruitment site for government contracting roles. We aggregate publicly available federal procurement data and job listings from contractor careers pages so you can discover employers and open positions.
This policy describes what information the service processes. We do not offer user accounts, job applications, or payment processing on this site. When you apply for a role, you leave our site and interact directly with the employer or its applicant tracking system.
Information we do not collect from visitors
For public browsing of the job board and company profiles, we do not ask you to create an account, submit a résumé, or provide contact details. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the public application.
Information processed automatically
Like most websites, our servers may record standard technical data when you request a page or API response, such as your IP address, browser type, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp. We use this information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service—not to build individual visitor profiles.
Filter and pagination choices (for example location, NAICS code, or selected job) may appear in the page URL so you can bookmark or share a specific view. Those values are not stored as personal identifiers.
Cookies
Public pages do not set tracking cookies. Operators who sign in to the internal admin console receive a short-lived, HTTP-only session cookie (admin_secret) so they can manage company records and data sync jobs. That cookie is not used for public visitors.
Government and contractor data we display
Much of the content on this site comes from public federal sources and from contractor websites:
- USAspending — contract award records, recipient names, UEIs, agencies, NAICS codes, and related obligation data.
- SAM.gov — entity registration status, legal business names, NAICS classifications, addresses, and contract opportunity notices.
- Contractor careers pages — job titles, locations, posting URLs, and descriptions obtained by automated crawlers that read publicly accessible HTML. Crawling identifies itself with a site-specific user agent.
This information is business and procurement data, not data we collect directly from you. It may include company names, office locations, and federal registration identifiers that are already published by the government or the contractor.
How we use information
We process data to:
- Publish and search job openings at federal contractors.
- Show company profiles and federal activity timelines.
- Keep listings reasonably current through scheduled sync and admin review.
- Operate admin tools for curating companies, careers URLs, and ingestion jobs.
- Maintain service reliability, security, and abuse prevention.
We do not sell personal information collected from site visitors.
Third-party services and links
The service relies on infrastructure and APIs operated by third parties, including Google Cloud (hosting and object storage), the SAM.gov and USAspending APIs, and Google Gemini for structured extraction from careers-page HTML during admin-initiated crawls. Those providers process data according to their own terms and policies.
Job listings and company profiles link to external websites (for example employer careers pages, SAM.gov, and USAspending). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before submitting personal information to an employer.
Data retention
Government procurement records and crawled job metadata are retained in our database and cloud storage while they remain useful for the job board and federal-activity features. Server logs are kept for a limited period needed for operations and security, then rotated or deleted.
Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a self-hosted web application, including HTTPS in production, protected admin authentication, and access controls on operational systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You may browse without signing in. You can stop using the site at any time. Because we do not maintain job-seeker accounts, there is no profile for us to delete on your behalf. If you believe incorrect business or job information is displayed, contact us using the address below.
Children
The service is intended for adults seeking employment information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
